Graduate students:

We only accept students who are already enrolled at the University of Buffalo or Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Graduate Division. Inquiries into admission at UB should be made through the PhD Program in Biomedical Sciences (PPBS) or the Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics (GGB) Program. Students enrolled in the PPBS, in GGB, in Biological Sciences, or at RPCCC are welcome to contact Dr. Halfon to discuss laboratory rotations and potential future positions in the laboratory. Students from non-biological science departments (e.g., Computer Science, Biostatistics) are also welcome but should possess a strong undergraduate knowledge of biology.

Postdoctoral Fellows:

Individuals interested in a postdoctoral position should be highly motivated and capable of independent work, have a strong background in molecular biology, genetics, or bioinformatics/computational biology, and have first-author publications in mainstream journals. We will consider applicants interested in both wet-lab and/or computational research, including a combination of the two. Previous experience in our areas of research is desirable, as is eligibility for independent funding.

Undergraduates:

Undergraduates wishing to conduct research in our laboratory should contact Dr. Halfon. Serious effort (upwards of 15 hours/week) is expected of any undergraduate researcher. Lab aide positions of 5-10 hours/week may be available for work-study students.

Laboratory technicians and other positions:

No positions are currently available for technicians and other staff.
